Magnificent Presence in the Beautiful Mundane
Magnificent Presence in The Beautiful Mundane
//
I don't know about how other recent brides feel after their weddings are over, but I'm here to say...it's a roller coaster of crazyyy emotion. It's bizarre how the day you've been planning for months/years comes and goes, regular life continues as if nothing has changed, except in all reality, everything has changed. It's such a joy-filled (sometimes messy) time experiencing your first months of marriage. There's no amount of preparing that can totally equip you for the start of your Vocation.
There's almost a mourning that occurs as you realize your wedding day is over. I found myself wondering how I spent my time before my thoughts were consumed with all things wedding. Without the wedding, it's been a slow process of re-recognizing all the ways God is present in all the daily little ways. Without the wedding to plan and prep for, my heart is slowly turning back to God and back to His healing grace.
It's such a beautiful and joyous process of letting God come into the mundane and making it fresh and new. Turning back and digging into the question of "God's purpose for my life" is a worthwhile experience, however uncomfortable it may be.
Praise be to God for the PURE JOY of marriage and married life. An even bigger AMEN to His work in me after the wedding; opening my eyes to daily graces and joy and finding His magnificent Presence in the beautiful mundane.
